Law of Attraction

It’s Not the Movie The Secret

When most people hear “Law of Attraction,” they tend to think of The Secret, a documentary featuring interviews with individuals who talk about how feelings and thoughts can impact the world around us. While this movie is partially accurate, it left out crucial information needed for attracting what you want into your life. You are the co-creator of your life. You are the magnet, filter, and decipherer for who is in your life, what happens, and how you respond to opportunities. Your beliefs and behavior determine how your life feels and looks. However, to manifest what you want in life, you must first recognize that you are deserving of receiving and behave in a way that shows your determination and willingness to do the necessary work.

Understanding and Channeling Good Energy

The first step to living a purpose-driven life is to believe in loving energy or at least to understand and respect “good” energy and “bad” energy. It doesn’t matter what you call the loving/good energy (God, Light, Spirit, Universe, Life Force, Love, etc.). For the sake of simplicity, I’m simply going to refer to it as Energy. Loving energy has been shown by scientists to be significantly stronger than hateful energy (fear, anger, hurt, etc.). Scientists has also revealed that light exists everywhere and changes depending on how it is observed and who is observing it. Furthermore, higher vibrations of light put out better energy than other lower vibrations of light. So, even if you are not religious, you can still ground your beliefs in the science behind what drives us and what we are comprised of. Being that we are more than 75% water, it’s important to be cognizant of the energy we choose to engage with, as water is a conductor of energy and allows light to be played with and utilized in many fascinating ways.

Energy is a part of all of us, and we are a part of Energy. You influence your cells, thoughts, behaviors, physical and emotional well-being, and how the world affects you. Why not use your Energy and the Energy around you to benefit your life and well-being? You choose your mental, emotional, and physical well-being to a great degree. The key is to know yourself so well that you truly understand what motivates, inspires, nourishes, or depletes you. At the same time, it is also important to recognize that this is a continual learning process. To be an expert “manifestor” who enjoys the fruits of your labors and experiences happiness and joy, you must only manifest what comes from within you, not someone else. You are a unique individual, not a carbon copy. What works for another may or may not work as well for you.

What Do You Want to Manifest?

How do you want your life to look and feel? What is most important to you? The key is to identify what is driving, motivating, and inspiring the material and non-material “things” you want in your life. Maybe you want a specific car. In order to attract it, you must not focus on the car itself. Instead, focus on your beliefs of worthiness and deserving. Focus on what the car represents. Determine at least two ways to work towards that car, and ensure that your beliefs align with your behaviors. You must do the mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical work to align them. The Energy wants you to have that car and anything else that brings happiness and joy—you just have to be in the “right” place to receive it. This is the co-creation part.

The Energy will continue to dole out amazing and wonderful “things.” It is up to us to be in a space where we are aligned within ourselves and with the Energy in order to notice when we are being presented with an opportunity. When the opportunity is presented, we must be willing to take action and bring the opportunity into fruition. The above-mentioned car is just a physical representation of mental, emotional, and spiritual work. It is the sweet organic cherry adorning your favorite dessert, which you made with ingredients that already exist and that you gathered together. At the same time, struggling and/or not getting something can also be a part of an opportunity. It’s your response to it that counts.
